Medium: Chamber Music
Basso Concertino for Double Bass and string quartet is a piece for double bass solo and string quartet. Gregory Fritze composed the piece in 2025. It is a double bass feature several times in string quintet setting. It is in two sections, the first being a slower section where cantabile melodies are featured. The faster section is more rhythmic and it includes some jazz rhythms. A double bass cadenza sets up the return of the faster section.
