Medium: Chamber Music
Basso Concertino is a piece for tuba solo and brass quartet. Gregory Fritze composed the piece in 1983. It has been used as a tuba feature several times in brass quintet setting. It is in two sections, the first being a slower section where cantabile melodies are featured. The faster section is more rhythmic and it includes some jazz rhythms. A tuba cadenza sets up the return of the faster section.
