Sanganxa

Medium: Concert Band/ Wind Ensemble

Sanganxa is a Pasodoble in Spanish style that was composed in 2015 as a commission by the Sanganxa Music Store for its 10th Anniversary concert. It is a grade three piece that features a solo piccolo. Spanish Pasodobles are played both in concert or marching in a parade. In a concert, there are often liberties taken with tempo especially at the ends of phrases. Instrumentation is: Piccolo, 2 Flutes 2 Oboes, English Horn, 2 Bassoons, Eb Clarinet (Optional), 3 Clarinets, Eb Alto Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, 2 Alto Saxophones, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, 3 Trumpets, Flugelhorn, 4 Horns, Balcony Horn Choir (Optional), 2 Trombones, Bass Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Timpani, Cello (Optional). Double Bass (Optional), Percussion (4 players – snare drum, bass drum, crash cymbals, bells)
